Sendero Energy Services, a leading civil contractor specializing in renewable energy, proudly announces our collaboration with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) on the formalization of our Registered Apprenticeship Program for Operating Engineers. The recent signing ceremony, attended by Texas State Director Lee Price, marks a significant milestone in our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth within the construction industry.

Meeting the IRA Requirements

The inception of our apprenticeship programs aligns perfectly with the objectives set forth by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022. Signed into law by President Biden, the IRA mandates prevailing wage and Registered Apprenticeship requirements for construction projects in the clean energy sector. As a civil contractor deeply entrenched in the renewable energy landscape, complying with these standards isn't just a legal obligation but a testament to our dedication to quality and professionalism.

Partnering with the USDOL Office of Apprenticeship

Central to our apprenticeship initiative is our partnership with the Office of Apprenticeship, a cornerstone institution in promoting and facilitating Registered Apprenticeship opportunities nationwide. Through their guidance and expertise, we can structure robust programs that meet industry standards and empower individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the evolving job market.

In addition to our program for Operating Engineers, the Department of Labor recently approved our new Registered Apprenticeship Program for Craft Laborers. This expansion underscores our commitment to providing diverse opportunities for skill development and career advancement within the construction sector.

A Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

At Sendero Energy Services, we recognize the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in shaping a vibrant workforce. Through our apprenticeship programs, we provide valuable training and employment opportunities and actively reach out to underrepresented groups such as women, veterans, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. By fostering a culture of inclusivity, we are not just building projects but communities.
